NTAC Opening Time

The NTAC Lodge will be open from 4pm on Friday.

IMPORTANT:

  • The Lodge will not be open before 4pm and there are not any public facilities on Ben Lomond.
  • Check Google maps before you leave for the best route to Ben Lomond.
  • Fill up with petrol at Launceston, Perth or Campbell Town.
  • It will be dark from 5.30 to 6pm.
  • The mountain is currently clear of snow cover.

National Parks Pass

As Ben Lomond is a National Park you will need a pass. Visit the parks website to purchase: https://www.parks.tas.gov.au. Seniors can get a free parks pass until 30 June 2019.

Credit Card Payments

Credit card payments will show as “Conference Design Pty Ltd” on your statement.

Breakfast

  • If you are staying at Rovers Lodge you need to take you own breakfast
  • If you are staying at NTAC, we will supply breakfast
  • If you are staying elsewhere, check with your hotel

Things to Bring

  • A torch (the NTAC generator is turned off from midnight to 6:00am)
  • Cash for buying alcohol on Friday and Saturday night – we do NOT have EFTPOS or ATM facilities
  • Warm jacket
  • A camera to capture memories
  • Wet weather gear and sturdy footwear
  • Personal toiletries including shampoo and conditioner
  • Hair dryer (if required)

Mobile Coverage

During the conference you will have limited mobile coverage on the mountain. Please advise family and friends they will need to text you – texts can be received better than phone calls.

Parking

If you are staying at NTAC we prefer you drop off at the Lodge and then park down at the Village Car Park. There’s limited space in front of the Lodge.

Accommodation Options

Northern Tasmanian Alpine Club

You can book accommodation at NTAC when registering for the conference. All accommodation at NTAC is for Friday and Saturday night and includes linen and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Bring your own towel.

IMPORTANT – There are only a few lower bunk beds available (as at 2/4/2019). These will be available to book on the registration until sold. We have some UPPER bunk beds available but you will need to climb up and down a bunk ladder to access them.

Tasmanian Rover Ski Club

Launceston is a 45-minute drive from the Northern Tasmanian Alpine Club and has a wide range of accommodation options.
