In this interactive session we will look at the current marketing trends and how EQI is positioned to address various challenges and opportunities. The session kicks off with a review of the latest international student recruitment trends and forecasts and highlights the most important implications, threats and opportunities for EQI.
Attracting, engaging and acquiring students is becoming increasingly complex: attention spans are getting shorter, technology is changing at a rapid pace and global competition is intensifying. Part of the session will focus on how we might innovate and adapt to changing market conditions in the years ahead in order to remain competitive and differentiate our sales and marketing techniques, programs and student experience.
Jack Stathis has extensive experience in marketing, sales and business development in energy, hospitality, and for the past 17 years, international education services. As the Director of International Business, Sales and Marketing at Education Queensland International (EQI), the commercial arm of the Department of Education International branch (DEi), Jack has established solid business links in Asia, notably China, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, and The Philippines. Jack’s professional awards include: Leadership (Department of Education, Training and the Arts, 2008); Teamwork and Partnering (Department of Employment and Training, 2004); and, Leadership, Management and Excellence in Marketing (Gold Coast Institute of TAFE, 2003, 2004).
Vivian Ip has extensive work experience in the international education industry for over 15 years in various international student recruitment, business development and management roles in the School and Vocational Education and Training (VET) sectors. Currently she is the Sales – International Student Programs Manager at Education Queensland International (EQI), the commercial arm of the Department of Education International branch (DEi). Currently, there are over 2,000 international students study in Queensland state schools recruited via and supported by EQI.
Lena Mete is a marketing and brand strategist with extensive experience in driving sales and marketing strategies to attract and maintain customers, build corporate brands; enhance marketability through digital and print marketing tools and effective messaging. She is a strong advocate of international education and excellence in the delivery of student experiences. Lena is currently the Marketing and Communications Manager at Education Queensland International, Department of Education International.
Michelle Cowell is the Manager, of Study Tours and Professional Visit Programs for the Department of Education International (DEi). She possesses over 20 years’ experience in the public sector, with 12 of these dedicated to International education. She heads the strategic vision and delivery of the leading National Study Tour Provider and is passionate about global education.
